The Problem
At this KFC, some exterior commercial lighting needed disconnecting, and so the first step was the identification of the correct cables.
There were many challenges, including lots of cables and the distracting smells of fried chicken.
The Solution
Despite the challenges, the correct circuits for the lights were soon identified. Access was provided by use of a ladder. The circuits were then labelled and disconnected.
After successful disconnection, the commercial ceiling space was left in a tidy condition, and the ceiling panels were replaced.
The commercial management team were left satisfied, and even though stomachs were rumbling, the provision of good food to the community in Lancaster was maintained.
Equipment
- The tester used was a Fluke Installation Tester (https://www.fluke.com/en-gb/products/electrical-testing/installation-testers)
- An A-Frame telescopic ladder was used for access in to the commercial ceiling space, and inspecting the exterior lights.
- A trusty torch helped with visibility
