The process
Seven Longi photo-voltaic (PV) panels were installed onto a slate roof during the summer, accompanied by a Sofar inverter and a Pylon battery.
The cables were run under the roof’s overhang, using baton wood and cable clips, and then hidden by new soffit boards.
For the roof work, two towers were assembled to provide access. The rafters were located, and the brackets were screwed in. A layer of flashing was used to maintain protection against water ingress. The rails were attached to the brackets, and finally PV panels were mounted onto the rails.
